I write features for magazines, newspapers and online publications as well as copywriting and books. I try to keep a tab of it all here...

Ever wanted to walk in the footsteps of one of Britain's first true celebrities? Me too, and Londonist indulged me to write a feature about Emma, Lady Hamilton's world - and to make a map so you, too, can (sort of) follow her roads to rise then ruin...

I guess I'm biased as it's my hometown, but next year in particular, Greenwich is going to be such a great pleace to be. From the fantastic new presentation of the Queen's House through the exceptional Emma Hamilton: Celebrity and Seduction to the once-in-a-generation opportunity to see the Painted Hall inches in front of your nose, it's really going to be something special. In my first feature for BBC Homes & Antiques, I was delighted to be asked to put together ten stories in the history of the Cocktail Party. Of course much research was needed...

I've failed to update this section for some months, not least because I've been working on no fewer than three books (details to follow.) That hasn't stopped the journalistic features rolling out, though. I have the great pleasure of being on the Q&A panel for History Revealed magazine, where every month I answer nutty queries and impart nuggets of useless but entertaining information...

In yet another year of anniversaries, one of the biggest has to be the only date any schoolkid can actually remember.

I got to go to 1066 Country to write a piece for British Heritage Travel , visiting, among other wonderful places, Pevensey, Hastings, Michelham Priory and Battle...
